One of the largest universities in the South, Auburn University continues to stay on top of educational changes by consistently adapting to the needs of today's world. The university was established in 1856 as a public university. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering on the Auburn University Campus is committed to the discovery of new engineering technologies, concepts and processes and the hardware necessary to realize them. The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program is an example of these commitments, it helps students expand their understanding of the core engineering courses and then takes it a step farther, by helping to develop the specialized skills one will need to be able to achieve a rewarding career in the field.

Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering

Students may also go even farther in their studies by working towards a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering. The Ph.D dissertation work will provide an opportunity for students to obtain the skills they need to define, formulate, and solve novel problems. There is close collaboration between students and the faculty at all levels and the Engineering program at Auburn is ranked #70 in the 2010 U.S. News and World Report's rankings.

University of Alabama - Huntsville

The University of Alabama at Huntsville originally started as an extension of the University of Alabama, but in 1969 it was officially established as a separate, state-supported, public university. There are over 7,500 students at the school and over 400 members of the faculty. There are over 350 acres that make up the university's campus in Huntsville, Alabama.
