The School of Social Work at San Diego State University has been ranked 42nd in the nation for graduate social work degree programs by US News and World Reports. Located in San Diego, California, the school offers masters level and dual degrees in social work.

Master of Social Work Degree Program

SDSU offers three time options to complete their masters, depending on prior academic records and study. Two, three, and four year plans are available. Additionally, a one year Advanced standing plan is also available for students who possess an undergraduate degree in social work. To graduate, students must complete either a thesis or a comprehensive exam. Students can expect to learn skills to practice in the field of social work at an advanced practice level based on education in social work practice and theory, as well as extensive study of human behavior, societal influences, at-risk populations, and other coursework.
