Top Five Masters in Healthcare Administration Schools

Top Five Masters in Healthcare Management

Health care administration is a diverse and growing industry, with professionals working in areas from patient care to human resources, nursing administration to marketing. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 22 percent job growth for medical and health services managers between 2010 and 2020.

In 2012, Forbes and Payscale.com ranked health care adminstration #8 on their list of the best master's degrees for jobs. On the one hand, for current health care professionals, earning a master's degree in health care administration could be an enticing mid-career choice. On the other hand, for individuals looking to move into management positions, the degree could open doors to potential new career opportunities.

In 2011, U.S. News & World Report released its rankings of the best graduate schools for health care management. The top five schools on the list included the following:

1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor, MI
2. University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis, MN
