University of Notre Dame's Graduate Psychology Programs

While the University of Notre Dame is known nationwide for its football team, it could be argued that it should be known for its Department of Psychology as well. The department provides training in both basic science and applied behavioral science for four different areas: Cognitive, Counseling, Developmental, and Quantitative Psychology.

Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology

Science and practice are the twin foci that form this psychological discipline. By applying these two principles together, students are better equipped to enhance their understanding of human functioning.

Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology

Doctoral studies in this area will expose students to a wide array of sophisticated methodologies in order to help them to learn about areas of cognition. Graduates of this program often go on to enjoy successful careers in university, industry, and government sectors.

Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology

Students in this program are trained to hone their expertise in a variety of analytical tools. Once they are able to do this, they will be able to apply it outward to create new methods of research and to creatively use existing techniques.
