University of Kansas Psychology Graduate Training Program
U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the University of Kansas’ psychology graduate training program among the top fifty programs in the nation. This program has been helping undergraduates continue their dream of becoming licensed psychology professionals since the 1940’s and has received continuous accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1953. The Department of Psychology at the University of Kansas offers five different areas of specialization and advanced degrees: Clinical, Social, Cognitive, Quantitative, and Developmental.
Ph.D in Clinical Psychology
When students choose to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Kansas, they take the first step toward advanced study in the psychosocial and biomedical aspects of physical health, disorders, illness, and varying levels of disability. Students will emerge from the program completely prepared to address, diagnose, and develop problems of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation with their future patients.
Ph.D in Developmental Psychology
Choosing to enroll in the graduate degree program for Developmental Psychology at the University of Kansas allows students to gain multidisciplinary exposure that will train them to become well respected in hospitals, clinics, and private practice. Ph.D candidates will conduct their own advanced research dealing with developmental phenomena as it applies to humans throughout their lives. Students have the opportunity to work with an assigned faculty mentor that will help them to customize a research area that helps the student expand their own areas of interest and make use of faculty expertise.
