Graduate Psychology Schools in North Dakota with Degree Program Overviews

University of North Dakota’s Graduate Psychology Programs

Although the University of North Dakota is one of the state’s oldest and largest educational institutions, that hasn’t stopped it from maintaining a close knit community of multidimensional mission undergraduate and graduate learning opportunities. Even with an enrollment of less than fifteen thousand students, the University has been able to establish over twenty doctoral programs, over fifty master's programs, and the state’s only law and medical schools. U.S. News and World Report have ranked the school’s graduate psychology degree programs among the top in the nation.

M.S. in Forensic Psychology

It is becoming increasingly apparent that a high level of psychological knowledge is needed to keep up with the demands of an ever growing criminal population. Those that are admitted to the Master’s program in Forensic Psychology at the University of North Dakota will be in a unique position to rise to the top of this still new and uncharted field. Graduates will be well prepared to seek out and win employment in state-run secure forensic units, state prison systems, community mental health centers, child advocacy and protective services, law enforcement, and trial consulting. This program is unique in that a similar M.A. degree can also be obtained through online study.

Ph.D in Clinical Psychology

Modern psychological experts understand that there is no way to separate the scientific and applied practice portions of this field. In order to offer the best service to their patience and the best knowledge to the scientific community, new scholars must be able to embrace the role of scientist-practitioner in a diverse range of employment settings. Those who are seeking the very best in research training and clinical opportunities will be happy to know that the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at the University of North Dakota has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1969.
