Ohio State University’s Graduate Psychology Programs

Although it is one of the largest departments at Ohio State University, size hasn’t kept the Department of Psychology from achieving excellence in almost every possible way. Home to around one hundred and fifty of the top graduate students in the country, the school is currently ranked among the top twenty graduate psychology programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. The department offers students some of the most extensive course offerings and research opportunities over a selection of eight different program areas, as well as the chance to work with fifty of the country’s most respected faculty members in Psychology.

Ph.D in Behavioral Neuroscience

The doctoral program in Behavioral Science at Ohio State University is designed to give students the chance to explore behavior from the biological perspective. Because it is so important for new scholars in psychology must be bring strong research and analytical skills to the table to be competitive in the industry today, the program is specifically designed to provide training in basic behavioral and brain sciences, in addition to methods of statistical and data analysis.

Ph.D in Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities

It is becoming increasingly obvious that in order to properly treat a diverse population of patients and provide the specialized services that are needed by underserved populations. To meet this need, Ohio State University scholars in psychology are given the option of creating a multidisciplinary degree that allows them to specialize in both clinical and industrial psychology with a focus on psychopathology and mental retardation.
