Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration:

Students learn about the correctional facilities, public policy, law, police procedure, social defense, and community development. Students also take classes in leadership and organizational psychology. Students learn about the methods that many of the best leaders in the field use. They concentrate on one individual area of study after core classes are complete. This is when students go on to their individual projects. They concentrate on the areas that they will most benefit from, consider their fields of study. Students will work closely with faculty advisors who understand the profession and can help lead students toward accurate and useful conclusions to their scholarly inquiries. Students who complete this program find that they have a number of different options when it comes to careers. Students may work in the government. They may work in the state or federal level in a number of different agencies. There are also many available jobs in the private sector that students may be interested in. Faculty helps students to get aquatinted with various job opportunities. In some cases, the school may even help students to be matched with jobs that are suitable, concerning their areas of specialty. Students who complete this program also sometimes go on to complete PhD degree programs in criminal justice. While this school does not offer a PhD degree program, students are prepared to enroll in other schools that do offer these programs.
