Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Students in the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Hawaii have the option of specializing in either thermal and fluid sciences conversion (heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, combustion, thermal environmental engineering), in materials/manufacturing (composite and smart materials, mechanical properties, electrochemistry and corrosion, solid-state ionics, processing, marine materials), and in mechanics, systems, and controls (robotics, dynamics, control, continuum mechanics A student who completes this program will be able to demonstrate mastery of the methodology and techniques specific to the field, communicate both orally and in writing at a high level, conduct research or produce some other forms of work, and perform in this field at a professional level.

Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering

Candidates in the Ph.D program must have completed the Master of Science program and then pass an oral examination before they can enter the program. They then will further their studies and may also be eligible for teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and scholarships

Master of Science in Civil Engineering

The Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree has several optional areas of concentration. Those areas include construction management, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and transportation. There are two options for the degree, either Plan A which requires a thesis or Plan B which does not.
