Students who complete this program are qualified to serve as educators, leaders, administrators, and planners in a number of public health contexts locally, nationally, and internationally.

Doctor of Public Health:

This is a competitive and high advanced graduate degree for students who already have strong academic backgrounds in the health field. Students enter this program with individual areas of interest already picked out. Students begin by further exploring some of the key concepts and ideas in the public health field. Students master advanced research methods and participate in a number of group discussions and learning groups. Students may attend professional seminars and meetings. Students engage in hours of clinical research locally and abroad. Students work in close relationship with advisors from faculty to complete their PhD dissertations. Dissertations are presented and defended before academic panels. Students who finish this program may continue research and teach at the university level. Students may also hold any number of high-level administrative and government positions. They research, write, and influence public health policy at the national and international level.
