Drake University School of Education
The School of Education at Drake University is driven by three principles, belief in academic reflection, collaborative learning, and social justice. Master of Science in Counseling
The Master of Science in Counseling provides students with a general education in counseling which will allow them to work in a variety of positions such as school counselors, mental health professionals, and state agency personnel. Designed for professionals in the field, class times are set in the evenings and on weekends. Students can also take classes over the internet. Once the core classes are completed, students can pursue one of three specialties, Mental Health Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or School Counseling.

Iowa State University Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Iowa State University offers three areas where you can earn a doctorate, cognitive psychology, counseling psychology, and social psychology. Graduates will work with faculty staff that is active in the field of psychology and research. It is the goal of the university to ensure students graduate with the knowledge and skills to become leaders in their industry.
Doctorate in Counseling Psychology
The Chronicle of Higher Education ranked Iowa State University's counseling program number one in 2007. This doctoral degree was fashioned for students pursuing an academic based career. The school takes a scientist-practitioner approach to the program requiring students to gain knowledge through science and research as well as the hands on practice of core competencies such as counseling, assessment, teaching, and consultation. The curriculum also invests a lot of training hours into multiculturalism and diversity, ensuring students are able to understand and connect with people from all walks of life.

University of Iowa Graduate and Professional College
The University of Iowa consistently has at least five of their graduate program rated in the top ten of the U.S. News and World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools. With over 1,700 talented faculty members, including three Pulitzer Prize winners, students will receive training from qualified professionals who can offer real world examples of the degree in action.
Ph.D in Counseling Psychology
The program uses the scientist/practitioner approach to train counseling psychologist. The focus is on producing students who are competent researchers, will promote psychology as a science, and are prepared to enter a variety of professions including educators, hospital counselors, and private practitioner.
