Chances of becoming pilot? Which Branch? Why? Why Not?
Well first off, The Air Force has alot more Fighters than the Navy does.
Navy has 877 fighters
Air Force has over 2,000 fighters
Your GPA is low for either the Air Force or the Navy to get into Flight School.
The average is around a 3.3 GPA.
But, depending on your AFOQT test score, or the Navy equivalent.
And your AFAST test score ( alternate flight aptitude test )
Never say never.
Yes, having a private pilots license, is a positive, But not exponentially.
Your GPA, AFAST test are the two most important factors.
I know in the Air Force, you can submit a flight school packet, before you sign the papers for AF OTS.
IE: you can find out if you qualify for flight school, before joining the Air Force.
Im not sure if you can do that in the Navy or Marines.
You will have to ask.
There is no guarantee to be assigned to fighters, even if you get accepted into flight school.
Assignments are based on your class ranking, with the highest ranking getting to choose the aircraft they want to transition into first.
IE: in a class with 20 students, the AF might say, we need:
6 F-15 pilotsn3 F-16 pilotsn7 C-130 pilotsn4 B-52 pilots
You notice, not all aircraft, will be on the list for each class, it is what the AF needs at the time. - Did you grow up middle class? Well there is the lawsuit, so you are not the only one with questions.
