Masters of Social Work
A Master of Social Work prepares a student to be a leader in the social work profession. Clientele assessments, management of caseloads, effective communication techniques, and promotion of social justice are characteristics taught to prepare students for leadership roles within the profession. Field instruction, observation hours, and internships are a few ways social work students gain experience from professionals currently working within the field. University of Louisville Social Work Graduate Programs
The Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville received a ranking of 42nd in the nation by US News and World Reports as one of the best graduate social work schools out of 278 schools surveyed. The school, via graduate students provides pro-bono social work services to the state of Kentucky in excess of $1 million each year.
Doctoral Degree in Social Work (PhD)
Social work students obtain a vast amount of knowledge about research, practices, and societal trends before entering the profession as a social worker. Field practice in health, at-risk, and clinical services are required, so students are prepared to enter any social work concentration within the community.
