Masters in Genetic Counseling: This relatively new medical field trains professionals for the purpose of counseling patients or relatives who are at risk of developing an inherited medical disorder. Professionals practice in hospitals and medical clinics primarily, using the competencies as defined by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.

  7. Masters in Nursing (MSN) is a degree that covers many nursing specialties, some of which are listed under different titles on this page. The basic degree is for management or teaching; Indiana University School of Nursing offers the MSN with certificates available both for teaching and for nurse informatics.

  12. MSN - Nurse Midwifery: This field is closely related to the nurse practitioner - women's health specialist, but the academic track is different as is the degree and the breadth of medical responsibilities that fall into the profession.
