University of Massachusetts - Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences:

Master of Public Health - Community Health Education:

This is a graduate program for students who are interested in working within communities to educate and promote health awareness and practice. Students may choose individual areas of interest. Students begin with a core health education. Students learn about key issues and challenges facing today's health professionals. They learn about challenges among certain communities and demographics and how to deal with these issues. Students also participate in a number of lectures and discussions that allow them to explore ideas and solutions with their peers. Students participate in local community internships and perform clinical research studies. Students also work with faculty to complete satisfactory projects and master's thesis papers.

Master of Public Health - Health Policy and Management:

This program is for students who are interested in the broader level studies of health policy and health promotion. Students choose individual areas of concentration. Students begin the program with a core education in health policy. They learn about challenges, solutions, and theories. Students learn from empirical data, research, and case studies. Students will also perform their own clinical research studies. Students participate in discussions and seminars in which health policy is addressed. Students also learn about new research methods and information systems that are currently relevant to the health field.
