Related Questions & Answers

Q: What should I include in an Architecture masters portfolio?
A: Well I guess it depends on what your education background is...

If you have architecture work from undergraduate, include a few pages about each project just highlighting the strengths. This was my situation, so my portfolio consisted of highlighting the 4 years i spent in undergrad. Renderings are pretty much standard these days. Pictures of any physical models are always a plus. Make sure that you don't put too much text, because they (who look at it) will not read it if it's more than a sentence or two at a time. Let the images and diagrams do the talking.

If you have a non-architectural background, it is important to communicate your interest in architecture in some way. For example you may take pictures of buildings or parts of buildings that intrigue you. Maybe you do rough sketches (good free hand sketches are golden) of architectural ideas or just sketches of buildings instead of the photographs.
