Masters in Fine Arts

Most students working to obtain their Masters of Fine Arts follow a course geared towards their area of specialization. The area of fine arts covers a wide variety of subjects including writing, graphic designs, sculpture, painting, glass, integrated arts, printmaking, and music. While some students will take courses in art history, most will pursue classes that advance their knowledge of techniques and subjects especially for their specialization. Many people that end up getting these degrees start producing works independently. Some pursue teaching opportunities as well. In a few cases, some students go on to get PhD level degree.

For those that decide to become a teacher at the high school level, salaries can range anywhere from $25,000 a year upward depending on specialization and location. Those that enter the field of museum work can make $35,000 or more per year.
