Those that pursue a Masters in Information Assurance will take courses related to information security, strategic risk management, disaster recovery, government laws, business continuity, and reliability. Many companies and government agencies rely on their information remaining confidential, available, and intact. Students pursuing this Masters degree balance understanding the threats against information while also understanding business and government requirements surrounding it. Students use real-world test cases to apply the studies they undertake. When they graduate after these two years of study, many students began working in government agencies and private companies to make sure data remains secure. Some go to work for the military as a contractor doing the same thing. Aerospace and defense contractors often obtain their services in order to obtain government contracts.
