Masters in Management Salaries

Masters in Management Salaries

This is a degree that matches up hundreds of occupations. It is impossible to establish a salary range for the degree itself, but there are salary figures available for some of the jobs that a Master of Management graduate is eligible for. We have listed some of those positions and culled through salary figures provided by the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics and in some cases Payscale.com, which can provide more detailed information on levels of seniority for some of these positions. All of these jobs are subject to pay rate variation based on region and years of experience, and of late on the state of the economy. But in many cases job hunting with a graduate degree is not a matter of finding open positions; the challenge is getting your resume and cover letter past the screening bots that somehow make personnel decisions based on keywords.

1. Human Resources Manager is a job that probably requires a few years of experience and a degree that included study in this area of specialization. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the salary range for this position is $58,490 - $164,270 with a median salary of $96,550. The mean wage for this position in California is $122,450. In the State of Washington it is $105,980, and in the State of Minnesota it is $111,440.

2. Medical & Health Services Managers work in a variety of settings but all have to be able to manage health billing systems and understand medical informatics. This is an evergreen industry for employment; it is not going to get smaller or need fewer management personnel anytime soon. The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the salary range nationally at $49,750 - $140,300. The median salary is $81,850. In the District of Columbia the mean salary for this job category is $96,080; in New York it is $105,670; and in Oklahoma it is $66,610.

3. Marketing Manager is a position that any company with sales of over a few million dollars has filled. At the lower end of the spectrum, with smaller companies, the position is a glorified advertising manager. However moving beyond local businesses the position can quickly become fairly lucrative. The Bureau of Labor Statistics cites the salary range for this position as $55,430 - $149,390. The median wage nationally is $110,030. In the State of Delaware the mean wage is $130,550; in Virginia it is $131,610; and in New Hampshire it is $96,640.

In computer hardware and software the range is $84,817 - $119,494 with a median figure of roughly $91,000.

5. Financial Manager for many job openings requires a solid background in accounting or finance along with management skills. But a Masters in Management with specialization in finance will provide all of those components. This job can range from managing an accounting department to CFO, in theory. The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the salary range for this title at $54,750 - $138,010. The median salary is $101,190. In Massachusetts this position has a mean salary of $122,370.
