Q: What can you do with a bachelers degree in zoology and where can you work?
A: You can't do much with just a B.S. in Zoology. Honestly.

With only a bachelors of zoology, you are somewhat limited in career possibilities. You can make a decent living, but will not have the freedom granted with a higher degree.

Bachelor degrees in the field typically go to work with the government or agencies like the TVA doing field work and consulting for industry and development. (You look for an endangered species of bug in a field so the new housing development can't go there...)

To do a more research-based type career, you would definitely need a higher degree like a PhD to perform your own experiments and studies. I would also suggest looking in to possible areas of specialization, such as behavior or genetics, in order to help narrow your college class selection.

By getting your undergrad in zoology and masters or doctorate in biology, you could still call yourself a zoologist or biologist, seeing as how you would be a biologist specializing in the smaller branch of animals, or zoology.

Also-nWith a major in zoology, your options of pursuing a medical or veterinary career are wide open as well if you were to change your mind after several years.

Whatever you choose, I wish you the best. Hope this helped a little bit, because I know I was super-confused about this same topic a few months ago!
