Master of Athletic Training
Those who wish to obtain a Master of Athletic Training degree will prepare for a career of diagnosing, treating and preventing medical conditions associated with athletes. Students will take courses in anatomy, research, administration, kinesiology and clinical sciences. In addition, students will also gain clinical experience to prepare them to work in the field. After graduation, students will have to pass the Board of Certification exam to practice as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Master of Health Informatics
Students who choose to pursue a Master of Health Informatics will learn to develop and use clinical, administrative and documentation systems. Those who enroll in this program will gain a strong background in computer science, information science, health care, biomedical science and the privacy and security of health date. Students will have to take courses in informatics, health care organization, management and information security.
Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
Students enrolled in the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics degree program will take a variety of nutritional, physiological, research and managerial courses. This program will prepare students to work in a variety of healthcare settings to help treat those with nutritional and dietetic conditions.
Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant
Those who enroll in the Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant will prepare students to work within the medical and healthcare fields. The program is split into two phases. During the first phase, students will attend and participate in lectures, labs, discussions and demonstrations. Students will also take courses in anatomy, physiology, genetics and behavioral and clinical sciences. During the second phase, students will work in rotations at a variety of clinical settings such as pediatrics, surgery, emergency care and mental health units. This will give students a feel for what each occupational setting is like and help them gain experience in working with patients of different ages, genders and backgrounds.
Master of Occupational Therapy
Students who wish to gain a Master of Occupational Therapy degree will take a variety of courses including reasoning and development, rehabilitation, mental health administration and fieldwork.
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Those who enroll in this degree program will prepare to become leaders, researchers and educators in physical therapy. In addition, this program has the highest passing rate on the National Physical Therapy License Exam.
