This is a graduate program for qualified students who would to gain a more complex understanding of the counseling psychology field. Students take courses in psychology, current methods and theories, and analyzing data. Students learn to read and interpret statistics, clinical research data, and empirical data. Students also learn methods of practical application. Students participate in clinical research studies of their own and also gain access to internship experience. Students consult faculty members to complete research projects and finish their master's thesis papers. Students who complete this program become counselors in schools and other community organizations and agencies. Students may also choose to pursue PhD degrees.
