Ph.D. in Criminal Justice

Graduate students pursuing the doctoral program in Criminal Justice must complete 12 credit hours of core courses that provide a foundation for scholarly research and reasoning, 36 credit hours of elective courses in criminal justice related areas, pass a comprehensive essay exam, and write and defend a doctoral dissertation.

Master of Arts in Criminal Justice

Graduate students in the MACJ program take six required courses, four electives, fieldwork and complete a Master's project. The highly skilled and well known faculty teaches according to changing criminal justice policy and need, for instance the globalization of society and its impact on criminology is discussed as is terrorism policy.

Monmouth University Department of Criminal Justice Located in West Long Branch, New Jersey, Monmouth is a private university with a classically beautiful historic campus and state of the art technology. Master of Arts in Criminal Justice

The MA in CJ is offered in three tracks: Thesis, Non-Thesis, and Homeland Security. All offer a broad understanding in Criminal Justice systems, criminal behavior, legal issues, and theory/policy. Required coursework also includes research techniques, analysis and application of research, and critical thinking. The Homeland Security track involves a heavy emphasis on terrorism and requires a comprehensive exam.
