New York University's graduate program is home to over 17,000 students. To meet the needs of so many diverse students, New York University has over 1,000 degree programs to choose from. The school provides students with professors, instructors and other faculty members from respective fields. They also provide high quality equipment and facilities. Here is a sampling of what degree programs the school provides.
Master of Science in Clinical Research
This degree program is designed to train clinical researchers with expertise in general medicine, pediatrics and surgery. Students will take core courses in biostatistics, clinical studies and research. In addition to completing coursework, students will also participate in supervised research experiences.
Master of Science in Biomaterials
This degree program promotes and trains students to use biomaterials to aid in the improvement of health. Students will take courses in biomaterials, testing methods, research and imaging sciences. Students must also attend seminars and conduct research thesis.
Master of Science in Biology and Oral Biology
This degree program has a research intensive and didactic intensive track. The research intensive track allows students to create a supervised research project while the didactic track allows students to focus on diverse courses and less on hands on experiences. Students are required to take biology core courses and imaging science courses. They must attend laboratory demonstrations and seminars.
Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing
Those who choose to enroll in this degree program can choose from a variety of specializations such as pediatrics, primary care, mental health and geriatrics. The courses students take will depend on their area of specialization.
Master of Science in Public Health
Those who choose to pursue this degree can choose from three areas of specialization: Community Public Health, Public Health Nutrition and International Community Health. Each area of specialization will have its own core and elective courses students are required to take.
Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
This program prepares students to work in a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, schools and clinics as dietitians. Students must attend seminars and take courses in research, nutrition, dietetics and weight management.
Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition and Dietetics
This multidisciplinary program prepares students to teach, consult and research in the field of nutrition and dietetics. Students will take courses based on research, nutrition and dietetics. They must also prepare and defend a dissertation.
Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health
Students who wish to pursue this degree will work as researchers, teachers and consultants in a variety of healthcare settings. Students can choose to specialize in Community Public Health, Public Health Nutrition and International Community Health. The courses students take will depend on the area of specialization. In addition, students must prepare and defend a dissertation.
