Portland State University's Graduate Accounting Program
PSU is a public research university that was founded in 1946. It is located in downtown Portland, Oregon. The university is a part of the Oregon State System Portland State University and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges & Universities. PSU has been noted for its excellence in providing service-learning programs to students along with academics blended with community work. The US News and World Report rated PSU among the nation's best universities in five different categories in 2009. Seven schools and colleges make up the university, the School of Business Administration being of the most interest to you as an accounting student. Master of Science in Financial Analysis
The purpose of this degree is to prepare students for enhanced careers in finance and accounting. It is considered an accelerated program with a unique dual-focus curriculum to provide a more thorough training of students. It can be completed in one year of study if you are attending school full-time. Completing it qualifies you educationally for taking the CPA exam in Oregon to receive your certification and become a professional in the field of accounting. 11 credit hours will be in business strategy and project experience, 30 credits will be in financial analysis core classes and 8 credits will be in directed electives.

University of Portland's Graduate Accounting Program
UP is a private Roman Catholic university in Portland, Oregon. It was originally founded in 1901 and earned university status in the 1930s. More than 3,000 students are enrolled annually to attend the campus that spans more than 120 acres. Every student attending the university is from the United States and 21% of enrolled students are pursuing graduate studies. Several registered clubs and organizations keep students busy with involvement outside of the classroom. The university is divided into six schools and colleges, and the Pamplin School of Business is what you will find the most beneficial for your studies to be an accountant.
Master of Science in Finance
This program is ideal for students who want to have careers in Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Analysis, and/or Risk Management. It focuses on financial skills more than the MBA degree offered here. Applications and theories from accounting, economics, mathematics, strategy, and other fields are taught in this program. To be accepted, you must have already earned your bachelor's degree, maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, and have high test scores. Professional experience is also highly recommended. You will take courses that explore financial accounting, managerial accounting and business statistics.
