Question:

Do I need a license to be a Nurse Practitioner?

Best Answer:

All nursing professionals at all levels need a state-issued license to practice.  Nursing licenses are similar to teaching licenses in that one state may have slightly different academic requirements than another, which is why you should check with your state licensing board prior to enrolling in an online MSN program.  Generally, graduate nursing programs that have been accredited by the AACN are acceptable to most states.  The difference may lie in the number of practicum hours required for a license.
