Question:

What’s the right degree for a career in public health education?

Best Answer:

There are a few graduate programs that lead to careers in this area, not all of which are to be found in the school of public health.  But certainly most Master of Public Health (MPH) degree programs offer a specialization that focuses on health behavior and health promotion, for people interested in public health education.  There are also Master of Social Work (MSW) specializations that zero in on public health, such as epidemiology, and the nature of social work often leads to an educational role.  Many students who complete a Master of Nursing (MSN) can specialize in health education and work in a public clinic or hospital educating families or conducting classes.
