South Carolina Graduate Engineering Schools with Master's & PhD Degree Programs

South Carolina State University School of Engineering

Deep in the heart of Orangeburg, South Carolina, is South Carolina State, home to the highly-regarded College of Engineering. Although this is a relatively small school, it does have a few Master's programs that make use of the intimate feeling of community to help spark discussion in some of the key aspects of the field. There are no PhD programs, but with two Master's programs it is worth mentioning, and is in the top 500 schools on the US News and World Report's annual list.

Masters of Science in Transportation

Transportation systems and all of their various facets are included in this rather unique course of study, which isn't offered by very many rival colleges. Some of the topics that are included range from train systems to electrical engineering. Graduates can then go on to work in a managerial role within the transportation industry, or complete their studies with a final thesis project in this field.

Masters of Science in Industrial Education

Those that wish to take their studies further and learn the educational tools they need to teach these engineering skills to others may want to also look into this type of program, which will help prepare them for classroom time. In addition to brushing up on basic education and teaching skills, students will also complete a Master's thesis project as part of their studies. This helps prepare them to effectively go out in the field and help challenge the leaders of tomorrow.
