Master in Social Work:

PhD in Social Work:

This program is for students who want to teach social work at the college and university level. This program is for students who have already earned master degrees in social work. Students begin with a more advanced education in core concepts. Students pick individual concentrations. They study policy and law. They also study a number of different communities and try to understand the effects of poverty and discrimination. Students also get experience as teachers. After completing this program, students go on to teach in distinguished social work schools. Others take jobs for the government at the federal and state level. They write policy and work in government agencies and organizations.

Middle Tennessee University Department of Social Work

This program is one of the newest in the country. The program was developed in 2009. The core of the program is based on social justice and community development. Students can choose from an array of concentrations and have much opportunity to participate in fieldwork, which acts as an effective training ground for aspiring professional.

Master in Social Work:

Students begin with a core education. They learn about social injustice, policy, and community organizations. Students learn about development at all levels in a community. Students choose a concentration and work closely with faculty. Students perform fieldwork in different organizations and community centers.
