This advance degree program is designed to prepare students for challenging work in schools, hospitals, private practice, business, and agencies that services individual, family and community needs. An internship is required for program completion and classes are available at night and on weekends.

The College of Social Work at the University of Utah designs its programs to product graduates who are able to stop or prevent human suffering, shape social institutions, policies, and services, and advocate for social and economic justice.

Master of Social Work

This degree program takes an interdisciplinary approach to providing comprehensive education to students pursuing an advance career in social work. Students will develop critical thinking skills, grow in understanding of their professional responsibilities, explore the ethics of social work, and use relevant technology for research and practice of skills.

Doctoral of Social Work

The doctoral program is designed to prepare students for careers in educational institutions. Students will go through researched based curriculum that spans multiple disciplines that will provide them the means to take an integrative approach to social issues.
