Vermont Graduate Psychology Schools with Master's & PhD Degree Programs

University of Vermont's Graduate Psychology Programs

The more researchers learn about the way the human mind works, and impacts our ability to function in society, the more they realize there is still much more to know. The mission of the graduate psychology program at the University of Vermont is to train up the scientists and researchers that will lead this field into the future. If you've been interested in finding ways to take your psychology career to the next level, an advanced education will give you the tools to realize your dream.

Ph.D in Biobehavioral/Neuroscience

Understanding how humans will exist and interact in the coming decades depends on our ability to develop a greater understanding of how the brain's cognitive processes work and interact with other elements, like emotions and memory. Graduate students who want to pursue a career in behavioral or neurological research will find that the Ph.D program at the University of Vermont is perfectly suited to encouraging these skill sets. Students who enroll in this well respected program will have the opportunity to earn their Master's degree while continuing to pursue the Ph.D.

Ph.D in Human Behavioral Psychopharmacology

The University of Vermont is proud to be home to its own The Human Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory (HBPL), which was established in 1986. As a result, psychology graduate students are given a rare opportunity to receive hands on training in the lab itself while they are pursuing their advanced degree. Because the abuse of both legal and illegal substances is such a problem for today's society, it's important that psychological researchers become familiar with the environmental and pharmacological factors that influence drug abuse. Students in this program have the opportunity to research and develop diverse new treatments that will help to fight drug abuse in the future.
