Rankings & Accreditation
Regional Accreditation: WGU has an unusual set of institution credentials in that it has been accredited by multiple regional accrediting bodies, where virtually every other accredited university has been recognized by just one. The University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools; the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges; and the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. All are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Education Accreditation: The WGU Teachers College is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). It was the first online teacher education program to receive such recognition.
Nursing Accreditation: The Nursing Education Programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Business School Accreditation: Graduates of the WGU Master of Business Administration program receive Certified MBA designation through a program offered by the International Certification Institute.
